Wild weekend

Oh Lets just say this weekend was anything but typical.  We had the NASCAR Championships on the main land in Homestead so attracted a huge crowd. Then two of my friends had birthdays this weekend.  Ariel and Katie which they celebrated in style.  We started off with dinner at Margaritaville oh did I say we had 20 people in our party.  From there when to Green Parrot on Southard Street and watched Experimentos play. They are a great Cumbia, Latin, Jazz, Funk fusion band that can pack them in. So many shots 4 friends and 3 hours later.  We make our way to rumors on Greene Street to meet up with 6 more friends and a dance off lol.  So some time later made our way to Durty Harrys on Duval Street to hear the Dirt Bags play.  Now we are 30 friends and its 4 am I had to call it quits and go home.  Although it was a great time  and love you all.

Monday in Key West

Today has been good after a busy weekend.  We saw the ending of the International Speed Boat Races to Sunday's Veteran Day Parade.  All in all really good weekend.  I hope everyone has had a great weekend where ever they are.  Just one question when are you coming to Key West??  Also if want to know anything about Key West just ask will be happy to answer.

Rants:
People why can't some people just respect others for whatever the reason?  we are coming up on the Holidays and should reflect we all can make a difference.

Let's if in Key West highly suggest you go to old Fort Zack or down by the pier to view the boat races. Also downtown should really start happening tonight around 10 pm a must see if in town.  All the bars on Duval Street will have live music or DJ's.

Rants:
The city needs to get off their asses and and figure out a way to renew their lease on the piers from the Navy.  We need the revenue cruise ships bring to this island.  Also how hard is it to let the new brewery bar have this license and blessing from the city its been way to long..  City Council you need to wake up.

Day After the Elections

I have to say my President won and couldn't be happier right now.  Last night after voting when out and celebrated with the kids at our local hangout on the water.  Hurricane Hole is a great family dining place right on the water.  I let the kids play while had a couple of shots and a beer myself.

Rants:
This election was the hardest one yet with the open lying and false statements...  I am thankful that we as a people did not get fooled and can see through the BULLSHIT.

TUESDAY ELECTION DAY!!!

It's Tuesday here in Key West all I have to say is today is Election Day and World Speed Boat Championships as well.  So everyone get out and vote and do not get out of line stay in line while voting.  Also get out and watch the Boat Races always fun.

I have to say the GOP must really think we are stupid...  I hope no one believes all the lies?

Parrot Head weekend is over yeah....

If you didn't know Parrot Head Convention ended this past Sunday.  With the parade of speed boats on Duval Street at 4pm.  So this week is the World Championship Speed Boat Races.  Everyone here has a great time.  So I am leaving you a video today of the Parrot Heads saying goodbye.

Parrot Heads

Hey Jimmy Buffet fans it is that time of the year again yes Meeting of the Minds in Key West Florida.  I have attached a video of the official opening night and hope you enjoy.  It was standing room only and was it crazy.  I have to ask one thing please be respectful of others..  If someone is sitting down having dinner and eating bothering  no one.  Then a couple walks right next to the table standing over the them and spilling their drinks.  After which did not expect the person sitting to get up and move you back.  Then to the couple you guys are disrespectful and idiots!!  I do not know how some people now days functions in society with out the homicide rate going up.

Meeting of the Minds

If you did not know already what "Meeting of the Minds" were well about to now.  It is a week long event devoted to Jimmy Buffet and his music.  This officially starts tomorrow and centers around Margaritaville on the 500 block of  Duval Street.  It is always a great time with awesome drinks and food.  Remember they have one of the best Bartender / Servers on the Island so ask for Rikki Bobby when there.  This guy will have you laughing your ass off the whole time there.

I am so happy to see we had a great fantasy fest this year.  I am even more happier to see some business around town not do so well and hate to say that.  Let me explain please so I don't sound like a dick.  We as a people should respect one another and not try to shit on each other.  Here's one example the Mad Rooster is located in the heart of all the action this weekend.  They might as well have been closed with the business they had...  The two owners have been involved in some shady deals and have not done right by people.  This is called KARMA and is real!!  The I have built it they will come mentality does not work in this world we are in today..  You have to give a great product with great customer service which they do not all...  Okay that is enough for today and for who ever reads this please send me picture and bio will post up on the blog.  My goal is to bring people together.

The Day After

It's official Fantasy Fest is over and thank God lol.  I think can sleep until next week haven't seen that many people here in years.  We want to thank everyone for coming and making it a success.  So many great costumes and naked people in body paint.  If you have any great pictures please send them to me and will post here on the blog.

Friday of Fantasy Fest

It's Friday of Fantasy Fest and things are heating up.  All week has been parties and events.  They say will be around 150 thousand people here on our island.  That is huge since we are only 2 miles by 4 miles island. I want to see everyone out and if your female join everyone at the body painting booth.  We have pictures coming up Monday of this event.

Rants:
If your drunk don't be a dick and respect others.  Also plan ahead there are many people on the island and taxi's will more likely have a hour delay.  So might be smart to rent a scooter??

Fantasy Fest Wednesday

Last night was a great night even though it rained off and on.  We had the Red Party at Fogarty's and Redneck Party at Lazy Gecko both was awesome and raised money for AIDS research.  So many people out and overall having a great time.  So at the Red Party looked almost everyone was in costume.  Mainly the girls were dressed up in Victoria Secret's outfits to sexy nurses well just plain sexy.  Over at the Redneck Party we had Daisy Dukes to the farmer daughter running wild and was awesome.  This has to be one of the best overall we have had to date.  Just think the parade isn't until Saturday night.  If your close must come down and enjoy what this time has to offer.

Now for the segment we call "Stay the Hell away from"
Stay away from the 900 block of Duval this area is not safe and full of shady bars and people. For example McConnell's Irish Pub. This place if the food does not kill you the service will.

Tuesday Fantasy Fest

Like I said yesterday go to www.fantasyfest.com for all the events.  It is heating up and crazy here on the streets of Duval.  The body painters are out everyone is in costumes already and standing room only where ever we go.  We have been throwing this party for 33 years now to help AIDS research and have been very successful with it.  Hope to see you all out and taking part for a great cause.  Remember the 200 block to 600 block can not go wrong with strolling by.

Fantasy Fest Begins!!! Hell Yeah!!!

For all those who do not know Fantasy Fest is like Mardi Gras on Steroids...  Officially begun this weekend with the kick off to the Goombay Festival.  We had the Zombie Bike ride yesterday that ended at
Fogarty's.  Today we have so many events going on to mention best visit www.fantasyfest.com for details.  All the fun is still around the 200 block of Duval Street.  I would stay away from the 900 block of Duval Street not really a great place to be.  Also if here please do not get duped by the con women of the "The Adult Club".  They are nothing but rip off artist who prey on tourist.  I want everyone to have a great time so add a comment with any questions.  Here are some pics of the weekend.

Tuesday October 16th 2012

Okay said it enough Tuesday is Euro Night at the Bottle Cap on Simonton Street!!  So lets talk about other activities going on today.  There will be a couple of great one man bands and duos' at the Smoking Tuna and Lazy Gecko at 9 pm.  If you can make plans to come down this weekend Goombay Festival starts this weekend and kicks off Fantasy Fest hell yeah.  If you have not been to one yet go on you tube and look it up.

Now for my new segment called Bitch session:  I want to know how Mcconnell's Irish Bar on the 900 Block is still in business??  This owner is 57 years old has been arrested for assaulting his employees.  Just now got arrested for assualting  on a cop among other felony charges.  He let his girlfriend take the DUI for him a real man!!!  This guy shows up at a little girls baptism reception at noon on a Sunday so drunk his girlfriend and him could not stand up!!  Therefore the cops had to me called (FYI it was a Irish community event so tells you how drunk he was).  This is a ticking time bomb and needs to be addressed before this guy drives drunk and kills someone.  

Monday

It's Monday and the has been a great weekend for all of us here in Key West.  The 200 to 500 blocks of Duval Street were alive and kicking.  Tonight is football night and suggest everyone go to Jack Flat's or JDL's to watch the game both have great food and enough tvs' so everyone can see.  Also remember Goombay starts this weekend and which kicks off Fantasy Fest hell yeah!!  If you don't know Fantasy Fest is like Mardi Gras on Steroids.....  Also will tell you a few places to avoid like the plague.  First one will tell you is Mcconnell Bar horrible food and service!!  Also avoid the Tshirt shops around the 200 block of Duval they are rip offs and cheap materials.

Friday in Key West

Hell Yeah it's Friday in Key West are you ready for a great weekend.  Almost all the places here have their doors open if not a whole wall exposed.  This makes it great for a person to walk by to see and hear if they want to go in.  Also makes for huge crowds standing in the streets outside dancing and basically having fun.  We will be in full force tonight on the 200 block of Duval Street so this is where you want to be!!  Just to remind everyone will start sending out video of our daily adventures starting October 19th.  Which everyone knows is the day Fantasy Fest starts so get ready.  If your here please stop by and see Rikki Bobby at Margaritaville I love this guy and he is awesome!!!  I never laugh so hard while eating lunch or dinner!!

Key West Thurday's

So it's Thursday here in Key West and the weather is awesome today.  The temperature is in the mid 70's and loving it.  We have a lot of people in town today some came early to party and others getting a jump on Stone Crab season.  What ever your reason may be glad to have you here.  So it's a must on a day like to today if not on the water for you to stop by Margaritaville ask for Rikki Bobby and try the new menu they have.  Then walk down Duval Street take in the shops.  Must book yourself  a sunset cruise and enjoy the atmosphere the sunset and water brings.  After which go downtown and start enjoying all the nightlife Key West has to offer. Everyone get ready soon we will be bringing daily videos of Fantasy Feat coming up the 18th thru 28th of this month.

Long Weekend

Okay the holiday weekend is over and man was there a lot of people in town.  If you weren't here hoped you got out on the water and enjoyed yourself.

It's Friday

It's Friday and you know what that means here in Key West, Florida.  Time to take off work and enjoy some sun and water today.  Then head out tonight for some drinks and great music.  This should not be hard to find around the 200 block of Duval Street.  The band Durt Bags who are sponsored by Jager will be playing at Durty Harry's below Ricks tonight.  So Hope to see everyone out tonight and remember go to Margaritaville and say hello to Rikki Bobby!!

Euro Night

Its Tuesday and so means Euro Night at Bottle Cap on Simonton Street.  I suggest lunch at Margaritaville on Duval Street tell them Rikki Bobbi sent you.  Then walk around all the shops and enjoy a sunset cruise on one of  sail ships.  Then eat at the Grand Cafe before heading over to Euro Night.  Please give me feed back on anyone going out tonight or has been to Key West before??

Friday and your in Key West

Today is Friday and the weather is wonderful people are walking the streets looks like a great weekend.  This is truly a blessed day and have to be happy your here to enjoy it.  I suggest to get out and walk the streets and spend time on the beach or water.  This evening take a sunset cruise on one the ships it is a treat.  Then eat at one of the outside places that cover the island.  Now the fun begins have to hit up Duval Street and bar hop to see all the different venues.  Hopefully I will catch you out and we can have a drink together.

Dancing in the RAIN!

It's Thursday and raining here in Key West, Florida.  Do you think that will slow us down HELL NO!.  We will still have mechanical bull riding contest at Cowboy Bill's tonight.  Also don't forget there still will be wild times by all all over Duval Street.  

Euro night

Everyone don't forget its Euro Night tonight at the Bottle Cap.  They promote this every Tuesday and is a pleasant change of pace.  If can't get over there the new Coyote Ugly and Lazy Gecko bars on the 200 block of Duval is always fun.

Friday Night

So hello everyone are we ready for the weekend I know the local are here.  It should be busy everywhere but the Green Parrot on Southard Street will be more than most.  They have a great band playing there tonight with fusion of funk, blues, latin and cumbia.  If have not seen them then missing out they are a real treat to watch.  Also don't forget to see Rikki Bobby at Margaritaville Cafe on 500 Duval Street its a must!!

The weekend about to start!!

Today I have to say one good place to go is Cowboy Bill's.  They are having a bull riding contest tonight and is always fun.

Typical Key West Weekend!!

So stated like in the previous blog we had the Poker run this weekend.  There were so many people and great looking bikes but not that craziness like years past.  Seen many faces have not seen in years along with many co workers enjoying the party. We just like to say glad it was a safe run this year and hoped everyone got home safe today.

On Sunday one of the Navy new destroyers came to town which was a welcomed surprise. So now we had 1800 sailors running around with all the bikers on the last night of the Poker Run.  This was typical Key West!!  Just when you think or assume this is how it will be then get hit with whole new group of people to join the party.

While it's Friday and Key West should be enough said right?  Not today we have Poker Run (if do not know look at yesterday post) and has kicked off.  We seem to have streets full of bikers and in good spirits which should make for a great night.  The main action should run from the 200 block of Duval and stop in the 500 block next to Margaritaville.  With that said want a real treat go into Margaritaville and ask the Hostess to seat you in Rikki Bobbi section. This guy will have you laughing from the start. Tomorrow will have pictures posted of tonight.

Start of Poker Run

For all those who do not know today is the start of Poker Run.  It's a annual event where Phil Peterson Harley Davidson's in Homestead has 5 stops in the keys.  Where at each stop will pick up a poker card starting in Key Largo and stopping in Key West.  If you have the best hand can when cash and prizes.  With the rain the hotels are still around 80% booked for this weekend.  The city projects around 300,000 bikers downtown for festival.  This is a great time to see all the different kinds of motorcycles out there.  I will be downtown and promise to bring you all kinds of photos and news as it happens.

So it's Wednesday and your in Key West wondering what to do??  The place will be Cowboy Bill's on the 600 block of Duval Street.  The Fun starts around 10 pm with a female mechanic bull riding contest.  This will last well into the night producing alot of funny stories over the next few days. Please if any questions about Key West post them here and I will answer all.

Tuesday Night in the Keys

So its Tuesday night here in Key West and your wondering what to do? Well have the normal  sunset activities at Malory Square to a top of the La Concha Hotel.  Then take your pick of numerous places to eat some of our unique foods.  I would tell you the best place to go tonight will be the BottleCap on Simonton Street. They have a live DJ playing the best of house, trance and club anywhere.  The locals call it Euro night the reason for this is simple.  There's a great majority of people from Europe working here. So on Tuesday nights they take off and come here to unwind.  This is great to people watch and see another side of the Island.  We have to tell you the drinks are strong and English is not the primary language.  This truly is a great place to visit tonight but will warn you really doesn't get going until midnight.
